Candy Jars

Welcome to the April addition of the Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle!  Hope you are inspired and want to start playing with your ink and paper!!

At our most recent meeting we shared ideas with new techniques and fun folds.  This was my card.  I don't know what to call it so this fun fold is being called a skinny fold.

The cutting dimensions are:
Basic Black - 5-1/2” x 4-1/4”, 11” x 2-1/8” scored at 5-1/2”
Whisper White - 5-1/4” x 1-7/8”, 3/4” x 2-1/2”
How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper - striped 5-1/4” x 1” (2), candy jars cut out

As you can see the middle part is this skinny part that folds to create your card.

And to create the look of a continuous stripe going through the card yet save Designer Series Paper, cut in one inch pieces.

Then for the card use the first and 4th piece.  For the next card use the second and 5th piece, and so on.  Hope this makes sense.

Hope you have fun creating your own "skinny fold"!  Now waddle on over to the next blog and get more inspiration!!

Little Feet

My sweet niece is expecting her first child and we are all so happy for her and I wanted to let her know how much we love her and the newest family member yet to arrive.  We don't know the gender yet so I wanted to be neutral in that area.  This paper is perfect for that!  But if you want to be specific, I've listed the more "traditional" colors down below.

And for the inside it just looks like the baby is waving to us all.  Isn't that fun!

Happy Birthday Candles

This is a fun and cheery birthday card that could be sent to anyone.  The "bling" of all the gold makes a real statement.  Even the metallic thread behind the sentiment really helps it all come together.

I added additional Designer Series Paper at the bottom of the inside to tie it all together.

And just to be a little different, I added the candle embellishments on the INSIDE of the card.  I'm also thinking this will make mailing this card easier too - but I also just like the looks of it.  😁

No Act Of Kindness

This has a little bit of an oriental look for me.  The clean lines, the earthy elements.  I'm drawn to this look.
The spine edge of the card is stamped in Mossy Meadow using just the leaves from the bonsai plant in the  focal point to add some interest to the background.

A little more stamping on the inside with the addition of some floral points and this card is good to go.
